Program Instructions - Talks
Guidance for Speakers
Final presentations will be posted on the conference web site. Please provide your presentation as a PPT and/or PDF either on a CD or in a separate folder on your laptop (containing just that talk and associated files) so that we can easily load it to a memory stick or CD at the conference. Presentations will be collected during the breaks FOLLOWING each session, so we can be sure last minute changes are incorporated. Of course you are welcome to give us a copy whenever you have finalized your presentation.
Please note that all presentations will be video recorded, and will be made available as an archived netcast after the conference, and that by accepting our invitation to speak, you are agreeing to this. (If this is an issue for you, please contact the OC member who invited you or the conference staff ASAP)
Length of Presentations:
The conference program will be made up of two types of presentations – featured and invited. Featured presentations are 40 minutes long with 5 minutes added at the end for questions and answers. Invited presentations are 25 minutes long with 5 minutes added at the end for questions and answers. Speakers are expected to stay within their allotted timeslots, as the schedule is very tight.
A/V Preparation:
We recommend that speakers use their own laptops to connect to the conference data projector when delivering their presentations. However, we will also provide a presentation laptop for those that prefer to bring their presentations on CDs or memory sticks. Mac users should bring proper adaptors to connect with the projector.
